Quality Assurance and Safety Manager
Job Description
Bring your passion for quality, food safety, and leadership to a long-established, family-owned New Mexico winery producing award-winning wines. This is a hands-on role where you’ll shape and implement quality and safety systems in a dynamic production environment. The Quality Assurance & Safety Manager plays a pivotal part in ensuring both the integrity of the product and the well-being of the team—your work directly supports the excellence behind every bottle.

Location
Onsite in Deming, New Mexico, a vibrant agricultural community in southern New Mexico.
What You’ll Do

Oversee and optimize quality control systems for raw materials, bottled wine, and in-process products

Manage food safety programs including HACCP, GMPs, and internal audits

Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental standards

Design and validate lab testing methods to ensure analytical accuracy

Supervise QA, lab, safety, and sanitation personnel

Maintain documentation, reporting, and regulatory compliance for all QA and safety functions

Collaborate with winemakers and operations teams to identify process improvements

Lead customer complaint investigations and product recalls if necessary

Stay current on regulatory requirements and implement necessary updates to ensure ongoing compliance
Who We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field

Prior experience managing quality or safety programs in a production or manufacturing environment
-
Strong understanding of HACCP, OSHA regulations, and quality assurance practices. HACCP and OSHA certifications preferred (10 or 30-hour)

Experience in the food & beverage, wine, or agricultural processing industry is a plus

Comfortable supervising cross-functional teams and training others

Able to lift 50 lbs and work in a physical, production-focused setting
