Job Description
Paralegal (28-32 hours per week)
This Santa Fe–based civil rights and employment law practice is seeking a part-time Paralegal to provide direct support in complex litigation and appellate cases. You’ll work closely with the lead attorney and a contract paralegal on high-impact cases involving civil rights, workplace discrimination, and police misconduct.
This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, skilled at legal drafting and research, and comfortable working on challenging cases that involve sensitive or traumatic subject matter.

Onsite only, in Santa Fe

28–32 hours/week (9 AM–4 PM, Mon–Thu in office required, WFH day on Fridays optional)
Responsibilities

Draft pleadings, discovery requests/responses, motions, and correspondence

Prepare appellate briefs with accurate formatting and cite-checking

Manage case files, deadlines, and discovery organization

Conduct legal research and summarize findings for the attorney

Review and organize deposition transcripts, police records, and employment files

Assist with trial preparation, including exhibits, witness prep, and jury instructions

Coordinate with courts, opposing counsel, experts, and clients
Qualifications

Paralegal certification or bachelor’s degree preferred

2+ years litigation paralegal experience (civil rights or employment law a plus)

Strong research and writing skills with meticulous attention to detail

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and legal research tools (Lexis, Westlaw, or equivalent)

Professional, organized, and able to handle sensitive client matters with discretion
Compensation
-
$25–30/hour, depending on experience
