Job Description
We’re working with a leading New Mexico-based law firm to find a skilled Legal Assistant to join their estate planning group in Albuquerque. Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $50,000–$60,000/year, depending on experience

Annual performance bonus

Annual cost-of-living raises, typically 3–5%

Health Insurance: Presbyterian Health Plan with low employee premiums (e.g., ~$110 per paycheck for family coverage)

Dental and Vision: Delta Dental of New Mexico; minimal or no cost for employee-only plans

Life and Disability: Includes $50,000 firm-paid life insurance, plus short- and long-term disability

401(k): Eligibility after 90 days; 5% flat annual employer contribution (no match required)

Medical Expense Reimbursement Plan (ME Plan): Up to $15,000 per year for hospital and major medical costs

What You’ll Do
-
Provide direct administrative and legal support to a small group of estate planning attorneys
-
Draft, proof, and format legal documents including wills, trusts, and probate filings

Manage attorney calendars, schedule client meetings, and coordinate deadlines

Maintain physical and electronic filing systems for client records and court documents

Communicate with clients, court personnel, and external service providers

Assist with the preparation of routine correspondence, internal memos, and legal forms

Support attorneys with day-to-day operational needs in a high-volume but supportive practice group
Who We Are Looking For
Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of experience as a legal assistant, ideally in estate planning or related fields

Strong document formatting and administrative skills

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and general office systems

Experience managing attorney calendars and preparing legal documentation

High level of discretion and professionalism
