Job Description
We are assisting a well-respected medical malpractice and personal injury law firm in their search for a Legal Assistant. The Legal Assistant will assist 2-3 attorneys in all aspects of medical malpractice cases. This is a great opportunity to join a well respected firm that has been representing New Mexicans for the last 40 years.
Compensation:

$47,500 salary plus overtime

15 days PTO (120 hours) per year upon hire
Responsibilities:
-
Answer phones, greet clients, and file documents
-
Schedule and calendar meetings, book conference rooms
-
Draft pleadings and serve documents to opposing counsel

Communicate with clients regularly
-
Maintain electronic case files daily
-
Some personal assistant duties for lead attorney

Travel required for out of town trials, up to 2 weeks at a time, 1 or 2 out of town trials per year expected, paid travel expenses
Desired Profile:
-
Previous administrative experience, preferably in a law office

Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required

Proficient with Microsoft applications and Adobe DC
-
Comfortable using a computer, email, scanner, etc.

Strong attention to detail

Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines

Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation

Monday -Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Some evenings and weekends

Longer hours during trials when necessary
