General Manager
Job Description
This Northern New Mexico Water Utility is offering a generous salary, excellent benefits, and a full or part-time schedule for their next General Manager. Our ideal candidate has the skills and experience to coordinate the efforts of the organization and to take the lead on budgeting and financial management. The ideal candidate possesses water utility experience and excellent people skills, who can manage a small team and work comfortably with a Board of Trustees.
Compensation

Average 24 hours weekly, may require more hours during budget season

FTE benefits, Med/Dental/Vision 100% (90% for family)

Responsibilities
-
Oversight, management and responsibility for the budget, general funds, securities, properties, and assets

Prepare a fiscally sustainable draft annual budget for both operational and reserve funds, based on past and projected water use, sales, operational expenses, preventive maintenance, and estimated contingency expenditures

Interaction and leadership of the staff, contractors, and consultants

Ensure compliance and manage interactions with government agencies, as it relates to environmental and regulatory compliance

Works with auditors and accountants to ensure operations are following applicable legal, corporate, and accounting standards

Lead and direct overall operations of administrative office, develop goals and objectives for organization and staff
Desired Profile
-
Preferred BA/BS Finance, Engineering, General Management or equivalent related Certifications

Experience with Water Utility, conceptual understanding of engineering

Experience with Fiscal management, budgeting, prep and tracking goals, objectives

Experience managing and developing staff, excellent people skills are a must
-
Detailed understanding of Federal, State, and County laws and regulations governing water and sewer operations
