Our client has an immediate temp-to-hire opening for an HR Assistant help support their expanding team and company. We are seeking applicants with outstanding communication, organization, time management, and the adaptability to easily pivot in a fast-paced work environment. Top candidates will have a solid background in administration and HR fundamentals, such as staffing management and payroll and benefits administration. Key competencies include business acumen, conflict management, and interpersonal savvy.

 

Responsibilities
  • Support internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests
  • Maintain digital and electronic employee records
  • Provide organizational and logistical support for the VP of HR
  • Manage benefits administration:
    • Liaise with broker and providers
    • Audit monthly billings
    • Research and resolve benefits issues for employees
    • Manage open enrollment
    • Analyze and present options for renewals
    • Reconcile benefits use
    • Implement additional benefits policies: education, wellness
    • Assist with administering worker’ s compensation program
  • Provide support for recruitment and payroll if requested
  • Onboard new employees to HR systems and welcome them to the company
  • Research and coordinate special projects as assigned, such as 401k

 

Compensation
  • Temp-to-hire: $20-23/hr
  • Salary upon hire:  $45-55K + Benefits, including:
    • Paid Time Off (PTO)

Desired Profile Includes:

  • 2+ years' experience in an HR support function
  • Effective HR administration and people management skills
  • Understanding of HR functions and best practices, and exposure to Labor Law and employment equity regulations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines
  • Capable with computers and skilled in email, MS Office, and Google Suite applications
  • Fantastic organizational, time management, decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to accurately follow instructions
  • Approachable, patient, and able to work effectively with a variety of people across the organization
  • BA/BS in Human Resources or related field
