We are looking for a dedicated, professional, and organized administrative professional for this independent state agency in New Mexico. This role offers a blend of administrative and accounting support duties, encompassing reception, office administration, and financial processes. Compensation:

  • Hourly: $19.24 - $30.78
  • Annually: $40,018 - $64,029
  • Classification: Pay Band 60

In this key position, you will be instrumental in the day-to-day operations, serving as the public's first point of contact and providing vital administrative and financial operations support. Your work will ensure the agency functions smoothly and efficiently, directly impacting our success.

You'll play a significant role in supporting the staff and broader operations of an independent state agency dedicated to serving New Mexico's public and advancing state initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for the public, managing a multi-line phone system and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Perform a wide range of administrative tasks including document preparation, data entry, and scheduling.
  • Support the CFO and accounting department with financial accounting processes and recordkeeping.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and support financial operations, including purchase orders and accounts payable.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulations.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Demonstrated experience in office administration and telephone protocol.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable with technology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with clerical and administrative procedures, financial systems (preferably SHARE), and accounts payable.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or Accounting.
  • Two years of relevant experience, with a preference for those familiar with budgeting, finance, accounting, or related fields.

This position is primarily office-based, requiring extensive computer and phone use. Some physical activities, including sitting, standing, bending, and reaching, are required.
