Job Description

We are assisting this independent state agency that focuses on the financial health of New Mexico on their search for an Accounting Specialist. Accounting Specialist plays a pivotal role in managing the financial records associated with the organization's investments. This position entails meticulous tracking of debits, credits, and other financial transactions related to investments. Additionally, the Financial Analyst assists in conducting quantitative analyses to assess the performance of these investments.

Compensation
Pay Band 70
$25.56 - 40.90/hour + excellent benefits! See more here. 

Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records for the organization's investments, including debits, credits, and other transactions.
- Assist in analyzing investment performance and generating comprehensive reports.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure the integrity and reliability of financial data.
- Support the Financial Analyst Supervisor in making informed investment decisions.
- Participate in training sessions and contribute to the selection process for new hires.
- Assist in budget analysis and forecasting activities related to investments.
- Provide support in evaluating data processing plans and economic forecasting efforts.
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration to achieve organizational goals.
- Contributes to problem-solving efforts by providing insights based on financial data analysis.

Desired Profile
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- Four (4) years of experience in accounting, finance, economics, or bookkeeping
- Proficiency in accounting principles, investment bookkeeping practices, and financial analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration and reporting purposes.
- Ability to contribute to problem-solving efforts based on financial data analysis.
- Proficiency in mathematics and statistical analysis.
- Adaptability to changing technologies and information for decision-making purposes.
