Job Description
We’re working with a mission-driven nonprofit in Santa Fe, New Mexico, to help them find a reliable and detail-oriented Staff Accountant. This organization uses the power of arts education to transform the lives of young people, particularly those from underserved communities. The Staff Accountant will play a critical role in the day-to-day financial operations, contributing directly to the success of community-based programming. The finance team is small but highly collaborative, and they’re looking for someone who is self-directed, proactive, and ready to contribute from day one.

Salary Range: $65,000–$70,000 annually

What You’ll Do
As the Staff Accountant, you'll report to the Senior Director of Finance and collaborate closely with a small, efficient accounting team. Your responsibilities will include:

Oversee daily cash operations, including deposits, donation tracking, and petty cash management

Record all deposits in Sage Intacct and reconcile cash activity, including event and merchandise sales

Monitor bank and investment accounts; coordinate with financial institutions as needed

Support general accounting tasks such as journal entries, reconciliations, monthly close, and audit prep

Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance financial operations

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management
4+ years of experience in accounting or grant management

Experience with Sage Intacct (or similar accounting software) strongly preferred
